I last did one of these in DECEMBER, after Christmas. Holy ?! But it’s about time to get a little less bookish, and a little more personal. Why don’t you grab a mug of something delicious and come chat with me about some things happening in our lives?

1 I must begin this post on a heavy note… my boyfriend’s grandma passed away yesterday afternoon. She had stage 4 bone and lung cancer. Isaac and I have been together for seven and a half years, and since the first time I met her, she made me feel like a part of her family. Honestly, his whole family was that way, but we are mourning the loss of a very special lady who honestly did so much for the people she cared about. I am lucky to have known her for as long as I did. ?

Have you ever lost someone who felt like
family?

2 I am temporarily a single parent. ? Somewhat kidding. On Tuesday afternoon, my boyfriend went into surgery to get a cyst removed from under his nipple. ? YOWCH, right? He’s not allowed to lift anything or use his right arm very much for at least a couple of weeks – that includes our one-year-old son! So… I’m pulling double duty! That means double the coffee. ☕️

Have you ever had to take care of your
significant other after a surgery?

3 You may have noticed in the last bullet point, but our son, Rowan, is ONE! His birthday was in April, and that’s partly why I’ve had some random absences around the blog. My baby’s growing up and I can’t handle it! ? He’s currently waving (like, he just learned that in the past week!) and I’m pretty sure I felt a molar popping through when trying to brush his teeth last night (emphasis on the ‘trying’ because he absolutely hates it and screams like a banshee). ?We also celebrated Isaac’s birthday, and then I, too, had a birthday in mid-May. We’re all gettin’ old ’round these parts. And I’m trying my best to come to terms with my turning 30 next year.

Do you have any children? If you do, how do
you cope with them growing older? Do you
know how to make it stop?!

4 Isaac and I just finished the five-part miniseries Chernobyl last night. WOW. So let me preface this with a fun fact: I have a small obsession with photography of abandoned places, so naturally I know of Chernobyl and the gist of what went down. But actually seeing the story told was another thing entirely, and I learned so much. It’s scary, and sad, to think that this happened in real life.

Have you seen the mini tv series about
Chernobyl?

5 I’ve decided to sign up for Audible again. The audiobooks provided by my library always seem to be backed up for like a month or so, so I’d rather just spend the $14.99/month to be able to listen to an audiobook of my choosing without being waitlisted! I went ahead and got Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix last night, and started listening to it. I love listening to this series so much!

Are you subscribed to Audible? Have you
listened to the Harry Potter audiobooks?

What are some five things going on in your life? Let’s chat!

Feeling: ?
Reading:
We Hunt the Flame – Hafsah Faizal ?
Listening to: ? Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix audiobook
Drinking: Lotsa coffee
Currently: I’m so happy it’s Friday, and that the weekend is right around the corner, but my family is suffering a tremendous loss right now and I just feel… heavy. Rowan and I will be attending a storytime at the library tomorrow, and also a wedding, so this weekend will be a bit busy. I hope you have a great weekend ahead of you, my dears! x
