bookish / let's recap the month of april, and talk about what's in store for may!
Okay well I was hoping April would be better than March, but, all in all it was about the same. We’ve spent six weeks at home with the stay-at-home order, and I might be going slightly insane. How about you? πŸ™ƒ

I, for one, won’t take ordinary life for granted ever again.

And let me just say that all of this extra time at home (crazy toddler aside) has not made me read any more than normal, hahahaha.

Let me show you the embarrassing details of my April reading life. 😞

Books I got in april

BOUGHT
I’m so proud of myself!!! I bought exactly one book and didn’t go buy-crazy despite the quarantine, like I was afraid I would. 😬 I think the fact that I am 8 book behind on my Goodreads goal has got me staying away from book-buying websites for the most part.

Books I read in april

I only read one full book this month, and one full audiobook.

Total pages: 466
Total time spent reading:
15 hours, 7 min
Total audiobook minutes:
108 minutes

✨ Compared to last month, I read 155 less pages… 😬 and last month I spent an extra 4 hrs and 25 min reading than I did this month. Yikes.

✨ My reading goal for April was 1000 pages, again… and I failed… again. Ack. I don’t wanna talk about it. ❌

✨ I’ve been telling myself to post a review a week. And I only reviewed two… so that was a fail. ❌

✨ TACKLE MY TBR CHALLENGE UPDATE: My goal is 50 books. In April, I finished a total of 1 book. πŸ˜† That brings me to a grand total of 9 books so far. The mini challenge for April was ‘new-to-you author’, which I did complete by reading the debut author Hannah Abigail Clarke, who wroteΒ The Scapegracers. A CHECKMARK! βœ”οΈ

✨ #STARTONYOURSHELFATHON CHALLENGE UPDATE: My goals are to read at least 2 books a month from my bookshelf, and at least 1 e-book/audiobook per month that I own. Did not complete. ❌

✨Nine posts… compared to last month’s twelve posts.

May tbr + goals

I only had 4 books on last month’s TBR… and still didn’t complete my goal! πŸ™„

I’m hoping to just get through House of Earth and Blood and possibly Maybe This Time. And if I’m feeling adventurous and eager to break my procrastinator stereotype, I’ll even try to read Aurora Burning, which should be arriving in the mail tomorrow! EEEEK!

✨ MAY GOALS:

  • Read 1000 pages… and I’m only repeating this goal because if I finish both HoEaB and Aurora Burning, it’ll be a total of 1,070 pages… so here’s hoping. 🀞🏻
  • Write reviews for An Enchantment of Ravens, Ruthless Gods, Muse of Nightmares, and The Folk of the Air series.
  • Maybe review The Scapegracers too?
  • 3 blogs posts per week, minimum.
what was your april like? did you meet your reading goals? what was your favorite book of the month? are you struggling with reading too, or is it just me? (i’m going to blame it on my active two-year-old! πŸ˜…)
