I’m so relieved that it’s the weekend, because this week seemed to drag a bit. I’m not sure if it was because of the love holiday that took place, or that a new ‘workout routine’ between my co-teacher and I made us extremely achy and therefor made the week crawl at a snail’s pace…

I was a big ol’ procrastinator when it came to Valentine’s Day. It was a very nice day, getting a tad spoiled by the parents of our students, and even from some of my co-workers. I had to hustle to the store on my break and get cards for my friends and kiddos – I was just not prepared at all! We kept it nice and simple at home, though. I came home from work, we got ready real fast, and then we went out to get pizza with the in-laws. Rowan probably ate a whole two square-pieces to himself! He was tearing it up, and loving it. ? ? And then he and I cuddled on the couch, fell asleep to Game of Thrones, and woke up a little before midnight to transfer to our beds. It was a wonderful way to spend my Valentine’s Day… probably more so than anyone realizes, because on that day two years ago, I was suffering from a broken heart because I’d just found out the day before that my first baby lost its heartbeat at 9 weeks. Rowan is my miracle rainbow baby, and I’m so, so lucky to have him. ?

Sorry for getting sappy. Valentine’s Day is kind of special to me in that way.

My co-teacher, Paige, and I have made an exercise pact to do at work for the next three months. I even made a chart for us to check off everyday. The goal is to do fifty lunges + fifty squats + 15 minutes of stretching every work day. Let me tell you… those first few days were BRUTAL. We could barely sit and barely getup from sitting! ? But we are going to have some killer legs and glutes at the end of this!

Rowan is getting closer to walking every day. Right now, he’s showing interest in dancing whenever the intro to his new favorite show comes on (True and the Rainbow Kingdom ?). We are now fifty days out until he joins me at work, and forty three days until we take our first vacation as a family! I’m so ready to head to Myrtle Beach – we haven’t taken a proper week’s vacation since April of ’17!

Anyway, this weekend has been very relaxing, and I haven’t left the house once. I haven’t even changed out of pajamas – it’s been so lovely.

Okay, let me explain… 1 I got pretty far in Far Far Away… I’m close to finishing it. Definitely will this week! 2 Instead of doing a book tag, I did an OwlCrate unboxing… you’re welcome. 3 I still have no excuses for not reviewing those two books, except for the fact that it’s been such a long time I have to actually take some time to think about them again to write a decent review. I’ll get there… eventually. 4 The gym was pushed to the back of my mind because I did lunges and squats all week!

One day these will all have checkmarks and everyone’s going to die of shock.


 

Next week, I WILL be posting my review for Just for Clicks, since it will be published next Tuesday. I also want to do a 5 Things Friday, as I haven’t done one in quite a while. Maybe I’ll throw in that book tag I meant to do this week.

  1. HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE (AUDIOBOOK) READ BY JIM DALE • (STILL LISTENING) Listened to 23% last week. Harry and the gang just arrived at Hogwarts! Let the mayhem begin… (Add to Goodreads)
  2. FAR FAR AWAY BY TOM MCNEAL • (STILL READING) Read to 73% last week. So I didn’t get this finished, like I was hoping to do, but I’m carrying along at a decent pace… especially now that, once I hit 60% or so, the plot is actually getting interesting. The rest of the story was really slow and I didn’t feel like a lot was happening. But the writing, and the fact that it’s narrated by a ghost, kept me enthralled and turning the pages. Game of Thrones, season 2. I watched a couple more episodes, but at this rate, I don’t know if I will have all seven seasons rewatched by the time the final season airs mid-April! I have to catch up to my co-teacher, Paige, who is watching it for the first time. She’s already on season 4! ?

Have you ever thought about taking a break from blogging/booktubing? If you have, how long was the break, and what did you learn from it?

MY ANSWER: I’ve actually taken many breaks, and that’s why this blog is like my fourth one. I quit blogging altogether, then decide I miss it, and start up a new blog. I’ve done it enough times to know that I never want to quit blogging again. If I ever need some time away in the future, I’ll just take a small hiatus! Blogging is a part of my life that makes me happy, and I shouldn’t give that up anymore. ?


Tomorrow won’t be too bad (Mondays rarely are) because we have an in-service day. Training and cleaning are in store, plus we get fed, so that’s always wonderful. Afterwards, a lot of us are going to dinner to celebrate a co-worker’s birthday! As for the rest of the week? *shrugs* WHO KNOWS! All I know is that I want to file my taxes so I can hurry up and get that refund! I wasn’t able to get my iPhone like I wanted last week, because I need $300 to get one. So I have to wait until I get my refund to get that. ?

Currently: Cuddling my little squish. He bumped his head and was really sad and needed mommy cuddles. But they were such good cuddles that he fell asleep, and I’m multi-tasking by snugglin’ him and finishing this post! #momlife

    Wow! I love this post. With respect to the blogger hop weekly question, I took an unplanned break. This break was due to a certification I wanted to obtain.

    Sounds like the perfect Valentine’s Day:) I used to do a lot of squats and lunges. Got shin splints and it hurts too much now. I use the pool for most of my exercise, which means I’ve being letting myself go a bit over the winter. Mainly doing floor exercises and walking with my son. Spring is coming and I can’t wait to get back to my swimming:)

  4. Ha staying home in pajamas sounds great – for a week. I don’t think I could manage it as we always need to go out for groceries or physical therapy or something. I’m so glad you had a nice relaxing break.
