My darling book blog, what has become of us??? I’m struggling with the juggling of life, motherhood, work, reading, and blogging, and it’s starting to show.

I think some changes need to happen around here. And honestly, they’ll probably be for the better. Some features that have been a part of my blog from day one are going buh-bye, because I just can’t keep up with them anymore. I’ll maintain focus on the things that started this book blog though, like book reviews (let’s be real, I need to focus more on these anyway!) and bookish features. I also thoroughly enjoy these digest posts, so these won’t be going anywhere. I’m still unsure about continuing monthly TBRs… we’ll see about that one. I think I’m going to merge monthly recaps + newly added posts. And as far as my music feature? Might just do that every couple of months or so.

On top of being backed up on posts, I’ve been extremely lax in returning comments – I’M SO SORRY! I will certainly try to be better with this.

Rowan did fabulous with his first week of school! His teachers and I are so proud of him! In the latter half of the week, he actually started interacting with his peers and playing with them. He’s taken excellent naps (he’s down to one nap now during the school day), he’s a good eater (and sometimes he could even multitask eating lunch and napping at the same time), and he loves playing outside! He needs to work on sitting during group time, but other than that, he’s adapting very well.

In other news, I filed my taxes! Finally. I’m so pleased with what I’m getting back. I have goals to buy myself and Apple Watch… and pay off a lot of credit card debt!

This week: So, I talked about knocking off some of my features from the blog. But this week, I am focusing on getting my book reviews posted that I’ve been putting off. I’ve got to get that NetGalley reviewing percentage up there!

  1. HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE (AUDIOBOOK) READ BY JIM DALE • (STILL LISTENING) Listened 0% last week (at 57%). I haven’t listened to anymore of this since coming home from vacation, but I think I should start making Rowan listen to it with me on the way to work in the mornings! (Add to Goodreads)
  2. AURORA RISING BY AMIE KAUFMAN & JAY KRISTOFF • (STILL READING) Read to 67% last week. I am thoroughly enjoying this book! I’m constantly trying to snag five minutes here and five minutes there to read it. (Add to Goodreads)

Game of Thrones, season 2 + 3. GUYS!!!!! GAME OF THRONES COMES BACK ON TONIGHT!!!!!!!!! I’ve been prepping myself by re-watching some of season 2 & 3 (not nearly fast enough though, unfortunately) and reading up on what happened in season 7 to bring it all back, since it has been about two years since I’ve seen it. I started season 3 though, this morning, and it’s so fun re-watching it to catch anything I missed the first time around.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine, season 6. The newest episode “Casecation” was a good one. Jake and Amy are goals and in this episode, they talk about having kids!

Teachers, season 3. I’m a little over halfway season 3, but I’d kind of forgotten about it the past few months, so I’m getting back into watching this gem of a show! I watched episode #11, “Thoughts and Bears”.

  • A Curse So Dark and Lonely review
  • Rayne & Delilah’s Midnite Matinee review
  • House of Salt and Sorrows review
  • Hopefully finish Aurora Rising?
  • Watch more Game of Thrones season 3

How was your week? Thoughts on Game of Thrones? Are you going to watch it tonight? What are you reading right now?

I’m linking up my post to The Sunday Post!

Feeling: ?
Aurora Rising – Amie Kaufman, Jay Kristoff ?
Watching: Game of Thrones, season 3
Currently: Just watching my GoT and blogging at the same time. But seriously thinking about breakfast. I’m hungry. ?

  1. I’m excited for the return of GoT.
My Netgalley percentage needs some work too… Sometimes cutting back on the things you do is the only way to stay sane. Don’t feel bad about re-orienting your blog.

    • That episode last night… did you watch? So pumped it’s back. (Not-so-pumped we only have 5 episodes left…)

Sanity is key! Plus I really need to orient my blog back to reviews, since my blog seems to be lacking in them lately…and that just won’t do for a BOOK BLOG! ?

  2. It can be very hard to keep up with all the blog stuff and all the reviews. Sometimes you’ve got to make changes, shake things up a bit, or return to what got you started in the first place. Like yours, my NG percentage has been much too low recently. I went through a reviewing slump that I’m just now trying to climb out of. One thing I need to cut back on is social media, both personal and blog-related, so I can focus on the blog and on my creative endeavors (music, knitting, and spinning, and maybe some writing.)

  3. Change can be a good thing 🙂

    Have a great reading week
