Ha, did you like what I did there? Hoppy Easter, everybunny?

Happy Easter, though, if you celebrate it! If not, happy weekend! Because that is definitely always a reason to celebrate. Yesterday was my boyfriend Isaac’s birthday. We celebrated by going to not one, but TWO hibachi-style restaurants. (Yes, he’s a little bit spoiled, isn’t he?) Rowan’s been fighting a fever all week (doctor just said it’s a viral infection), but he didn’t 100% seem himself this weekend. Lots of sleep, and some extra drooling … maybe cutting teeth? I’m hoping so! If he still has a fever come Monday, we may have to go see the pediatrician again.

My new Apple Watch! ?

I got my tax refund back! ?? And with it, I was able to reduce some debt AND buy myself an Apple Watch! ⌚️ Woot! I got the series 4, and even though I had to dish out a pretty penny, I think it was worth it. I love it.

I’m getting back into fasting this week. I’ve put on a couple of pounds since vacation at the beginning of the month, and now I’ve got a renewed determination to reach my goals. I’m hoping Rowan doesn’t have to miss anymore school this week (he missed two days last week) so that I can get my butt to the gym! ??

My new babies.

To top the weekend off, I received my OwlCrate in the mail yesterday! The book of the month was one I already read, but definitely wanted to own … as a matter of fact, yesterday I went into Barnes & Noble with the intent to buy it, but couldn’t find it! It worked out though. I also bought two new books with some gift cards I’d been hoarding for a rainy day. Say hello to my new beauties! I just had to own a copy of Rayne & Delilah’s Midnite Matinee I looooved this book, as you can tell in the review I also posted yesterday. And then I also decided to buy Illuminae because I am now a total fan of the Kaufman/Kristoff dynamic after reading (and finishing) Aurora Rising this week. Yes yes yes! It was SO good!

With the purchase of these two new books, I think a massive shelf clean-out is in order. I have SO many books that I just know I’m never going to read, and it’s becoming a problem … mainly because the space is lacking. I live in a small house, and as much as it pains me to do, I just can’t keep them all. I think this week (or in the near future), I’m going to be going through them all and weed out the rejects. Hopefully I can get some credit at Half Price Books for them!

This week: My NetGalley feedback ratio is officially 50%. I’ve got two more ARCs to review: House of Salt and Sorrows and Aurora Rising. So look out for those soon. I also want to have a discussion about maybe purging my TBR…?

  1. HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE (AUDIOBOOK) READ BY JIM DALE • (STILL LISTENING) Listened 3% last week (at 60%). I tried to multitask and listen to this while doing things around the house, but I’m really bad at it. I need to listen to it more on my commutes. (Add to Goodreads)
  2. AURORA RISING BY AMIE KAUFMAN & JAY KRISTOFF • (FINISHED) ★★★★★ This. Book. Was. Amazing. I’m a Kaufman/Kristoff fan now. (Add to Goodreads)
  3. SHADOW FROST BY COCO MA • (STARTED) Read to 2% last week. I’m just getting started on this one and it’s not quite enough to form an opinion yet. Come back later. (Add to Goodreads)

Game of Thrones, season 3 + 8. I’ve been re-watching from the beginning and I’m on season 3, but I also watched the season 8 premiere! “Winterfell” was a satisfying opener to a new season. (That we’ve waited for for about 2 years!!!) I think we need to petition for a new episode name though. I choose “How To Train Your Drogon” … *ba dum tiss*

  • A Curse So Dark and Lonely review
  • House of Salt and Sorrows ARC review
  • Aurora Rising ARC review
  • Read more Shadow Frost
  • Listen to some of my Harry Potter audiobook every day

Do you celebrate Easter? What did you read this week?

I’m linking up my post to The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves!

Feeling: ?
Reading:
Shadow Frost – Coco Ma ?
Listening: “Movie” – The Birthday Massacre
Currently: The babe is back asleep (he’s been doing a lot of sleeping) and I’m about to go round 2 on coffee. I don’t know if I want to continue watching some Game of Thrones or read Shadow Frost. ? Decisions, decisions…

12 Responses to Blog Digest (#23): Hoppy Easter Everybunny!

  1. Ooooh, good luck on the NetGalley ratio! I’ve been super focused on that myself for the past few months, and it’s finally paying off.

I have yet to try any Kristoff/Kaufman books. All the love/hate reviews kind of scared me away!

  2. Sophie says:

You got to read Aurora Rising already??? You are so lucky! And yes I do celebrate Easter! Now what I’ve read this week ranges from YA (Defy Me) to Adult (Method by Kate Stewart)

  3. Yay for great books to read! I have switched to almost totally digital as it doesn’t require the storage space and effort when moving. I do love my print books but I get the newer stuff digital. Happy Easter!

    Here is my Sunday Post

    • I love the portability of ebooks so much, but hard copies make for such pretty photography! I’m torn, honestly. But you do bring up a good point: when moving, digital is definitely convenient! ? Hope you had a great Easter!

  4. My mother swears by her App,e Watch..enjoy!

If you are purging YA titles you might want to consider donating them to a local high school library, after school program or teen refuge where I’m sure they would be appreciated

    Have a great reading week

    • That is a great idea! I’m asking all of my book-reader friends first if they want dibs. Then I’ll see where I can take them. Thank you for the suggestion!

I am so enamored with my Apple watch! haha! ?

  5. My netgalley ratio is at 70%… So much work to get it higher! *sobs*
I sweat to myself, I’ll get there and won’t run it down again but… I probably lie.

  6. Cool watch! Happy birthday to your boyfriend, and I hope Rowan feels better soon. I also rewatched GoT from the beginning to get ready for the new season. I never get sick of that show. Have a great week!

    • Thank you!! I have absolutely loved rewatching Game of Thrones, because I catch certain things that I missed the first time around. I am so sad about this season though. Things are not panning out the way I would’ve hoped. ?
