Hey, hi, hello! It’s been a week since we last talked, but I have an excuse! Early last week – we’re talking late Monday/Tuesday morning – I tried writing up my Top Ten Tuesday post to share with you all, but I just couldn’t get my computer to work fast enough. I was getting so frustrated.

Lately, it’s been yelling at me in pop-up form, with a side of crashing, telling me that my memory is way too low. Argh! My laptop was 6 years old (ancient in technology years, right?) so I just decided to start looking for a new one. I had my sights set on getting a MacBook, but I wanted to avoid the sticker shock of getting one brand new. So what did I do? Turn to Facebook Marketplace, of course!

My new, pretty MacBook.

Well, in short, I found one. Downside: I had to drive 2 hours and 15 minutes for it. Did I do it? Yes.

It wasn’t too bad, though. Seriously! I was able to listen to my audiobook, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, so it wasn’t a terrible waste of time. Plus I loved the MacBook, so it was a win-win!

We met at a Starbucks, and the guy showed me how to use it and wipe it clean, and while it reset, I sipped on a mocha cookie crumble frappuccino and read my book (CR: We Hunt the Flame). Then I played with it for about an hour before I got back on the road. Unfortunately  it started raining pretty bad, with thunder and lightning, so that was kinda uncool. ⛈

My Weekend in the Dells

So that was Wednesday night, and then Thursday night was set aside for packing and getting our son ready for a two-night stay at Isaac’s aunt’s house. Early Friday morning, around 5:30 AM, we set out for Wisconsin for a wedding. We drove with Isaac’s best friend and wife, and I did a lot of sleeping because I hadn’t slept good the night before. (Or the night before that when I first got my laptop – all I wanted to do was play with it and I didn’t get to sleep until about 1:30 AM, then woke up unexpectedly at 5:30 AM!)

We stopped for breakfast and lunch, I did some reading in between my bouts of unconsciousness and we made it to our hotel by 3 PM. (Plus, we gained an hour because we switched timezones.) We had the rehearsal dinner at 6 PM, and the food was delicious. I didn’t think about taking any pictures, but just take my word for it that it was lovely. And I may have had three glasses of moscato. (Hey it’s fine, I wasn’t driving.)

Our Saturday morning adventures!

On Saturday morning, we ventured down the strip with the groom and explored some tourist shops. We found a couple of cool stores that really pulled me in: The Point was a weapons shop, but it boasted cool things like the Keyblade from the Kingdom Hearts video game franchise, and I totally bought one for $20! Isaac tested out Thor’s hammer (He is worthy!!!) and we went into the Nerd Shop, which had a giant TARDIS in the back. We got lunch at Taco Bell, and then we went back to the hotel to get ourselves ready for the wedding.

Pictures from the wedding.

Around 4 PM, we all met up for the pictures. Isaac was a groomsman (look how handsome!), as well as his best friend and wife. We went back to the venue for the ceremony and reception, and the dinner, again, was delicious! There was an open bar, so that was awesome, and my man and I got down on the dance floor! It was really fun, and by 11 PM, we were ready for bed!

At 5 AM this morning, we got all of our bags, got in the car, and left for home! We’ve got a memorial tonight for Isaac’s grandma, who passed at the beginning of this month, and I’m very excited to see my baby again after two days without him! We’ve got about three more hours until we reach home (I found out how to use my phone’s hotspot to be on the internet with my laptop). ?

The Beholder
(ebook, bought)

I bought a couple of new ebooks that I’ve had my eye on for a while. So yay, new books! ?

I honestly had a Top Ten post all ready to write but then my old laptop was being a jerk. ??‍♀️ Maybe I’ll post it this week.

  1. SHADOW FROST BY COCO MA • (ON HOLD) Read to 28% so far. I didn’t read any more of this this week! (Add to Goodreads)
  2. A GAME OF THRONES BY GEORGE R.R. MARTIN • (ON HOLD) Read to 6% so far. I didn’t read any more of this this week! (Add to Goodreads)
  3. WE HUNT THE FLAME BY HAFSAH FAIZAL • (STILL READING)  Read to 29% last week. This one is getting very good, and now that I know there’s a pronunciation guide on the author’s website, I can understand the language a bit better. ? But, yes, loving it regardless! (Add to Goodreads)
  4. HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX (AUDIOBOOK) READ BY JIM DALE • (STILL LISTENING)  Listened to 28% last week. Like I said up above, I had lots of time to listen to this book while driving the 2+ hours to get my new laptop! (Add to Goodreads)

What? I didn’t actually watch anything this week? That’s weird.

Now that I have a working computer, expect to see some posts this week (other than blog digests, ha).

  • Top 10 Tuesday! (I’ll probably continue with last weeks prompt.)
  • Aurora Rising review
  • Maybe a book tag? We’ll see?

How have you been? Anything riveting happen to you this past week? What have you been reading and/or watching?

I’m linking up my post to The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves!
