blog digest #39 / taco 'bout october and how fun a month it was!
It’s hard to fathom that October is nearing its end. We marched out of September and into October, eyes gleaming, and hearts smiling, because autumn is truly the best season. (Don’t @ me.) And now, we’re in our final week… and even though my soul is frowning a little bit, it’s glad that other cozy, good feelings are on their way as we get closer to Thanksgiving and Christmas. 😊

The past two weekends have been pretty fun, but I was super glad to have a day like today where I didn’t have anything planned, and/or nobody was sick

Rowan started fighting a cold the week before last. The poor kid just wasn’t feeling himself. Last weekend, though, he started feeling better and we had fun at our family friend’s fall festival. Rowan really enjoyed playing in the bouncy house they had there.

I also commissioned my friend to help me make Rowan’s Halloween costume last weekend too. Rowan is a taco for Halloween, so she helped me make the outer shell, and I hot-glued all of the ‘toppings’ onto a yellow shirt I bought. I’m super proud of how it turned out! TACO BOUT A CUTIE!

I had to buy Ninth HouseSerpent & Dove, and The Beautiful, I just HAD to. And OwlCrate this month delivered TWO books in the box. I know, awesome, right?

CITY OF BONES by Cassandra Clare. Finished. ★★★ Definitely a good story, but I really only cared about Clary and Jace’s dynamic. Some scenes were pretty cool, too. (Goodreads)
HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS (Audiobook) read by Jim Dale. Still listening. Listened to 55%. Ron really can be quite a prat. But that’s what I like about Rowling’s writing – she makes the characters flawed. I’m at the part where they visited the Lovegood household. (Goodreads)
SERPENT & DOVE by Shelby Mahurin. Started. Read to page 145. This has been a nice read so far. Trying to make time to read more of it! (Goodreads)

The Handmaid’s Tale – finally finished season 2! Was so mad by the end of that last episode!

I’ve also watched Paranormal Activity (to get into the spooky spirit, and since it’s been so long since I’ve watched it) and Hocus Pocus, of course!

Until next time, here’s some weekly goals of mine.

  • Watch a different Halloween-themed movie each night this week.
  • Read Serpent & Dove, and hopefully finish by next weekend.
  • I have 4 Halloween-themed posts rolling out this week! Be sure to check them out!
What plans do you have for Halloween? Are you dressing up? What have you read this week?

I’m linking up my post to The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves!
