Hi friends! I’m just going to come right out and say it: I’m officially an Animal Crossing addict. I started playing it five days ago and I. Can’t. Stop. I’ve actually been doing a whole lot of game-playing and slacking on the blogging-and-reading. It;s not like I haven’t thought about my blog, because I have. I think about it a lot. I kept thinking I should open up my laptop and just write something (like my reviews that are long overdue) but I just never could bring myself to do it – or put down my Nintendo Switch. 🤣
Literally, my Switch is perpetually plugged in because I’ve been using it so much.
THAT STAY-AT-HOME LIFE / As of Thursday, my preschool is officially closed until May 1st, when we will – hopefully 🤞🏻 – return. The week before last, I worked a total of 9 hours because our building was so low – normally, we’ve got over 200 kids in our building, and that week we were in the 60-70 range, which was so weird. I basically wasn’t needed (we had no babies in my room, where I am an infant teacher), so I just stayed home and kept Rowan home, too. Last week, I went ahead and worked Monday thru Wednesday, and I don’t think we ever had more than 30 kids in the building. Rowan and I have gotten out of the house for a lot of fresh air (on days that it’s been nice), but I’m trying to find more things to keep him/us entertained. 😅 (Suggestions are welcome, in fact, they are encouraged.)
REVIVED GAMER / It simply started out as me just getting back into my Spyro Reignited game on the PS4, in which I beat Ripto’s Rage and then proceeded to play the Year of the Dragon. And then… I picked up my dusty and neglected Nintendo Switch. I made some progress with Let’s Go Pikachu and a good chunk of progress with Super Mario Odyssey… and then I got to playing on the SNES game where I played some Yoshi Island. But then… after a couple days of thinking about it, I finally succumbed and downloaded Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Life as I knew it changed forever with that decision. Guys, I can’t stop playing it. (Currently accepting friends to play with, so if interested DM me on Twitter!)
Sorry if it’s too soon to call it my “Quarantine TBR” – but c’mon, that’s basically what it is. (And honestly, since I revived my Switch, I haven’t been doing a good job with this TBR thing… 😳)
I have only a couple CWW’s under my blogging belt, but I also wanted to add in WWW’s with it! So this was my first time doing both!
Nothin’ here, guys.
- TO BE HONEST (Audiobook) read by Eileen Stevens. Finished. ★★★★ This was a cute book, but something about the end felt too… anticlimactic? I did enjoy the mother/daughter dynamic in this one, and George was a pretty great love interest! (Goodreads)
- eARC: THE SCAPEGRACERS by Hannah Abigail Clarke. Still reading. Read to 42%. Oops, I’ve been distracted by Animal Crossing… 😬 (Goodreads)
›› Shameless – We made it to season3, finally! And as bad as Frank is, good Lord I’m so happy Monica is gone again. 🥳
›› Dollface – I finished the rest of the season as soon as Operation: Isolation started last Thursday, hahaha. This show is actually so good! I loved how Jules (Kat Dennings) had a harder time fighting for her friendships, but in the end, didn’t give up. I can’t wait to see what the next season will bring – helloooo Dr. Veterinarian, Wes!
›› Schitt’s Creek – I also finally finished the first season of this comedy! I really love David and Moira. I’ll be keeping up with this show, for sure.
›› P.S. I Still Love You – It’s about time I watched this one!!! Ah, it was so good, and I’m so happy with the way the end turned out! Oh, Peter. 💘
- Hopefully more sun-shiny days so we can get outside and get exercise.
- Is there really that much to look forward to?
- Except for Animal Crossing, obvs.
