Happy Sunday Funday! We’re already a week into 2019 and I’m feeling pretty hopeful about everything … I guess that’s kind of what the new year is supposed to symbolize: a sense of hope!
I’ve managed to read a good chunk of my books every single day, which is IMMENSE progress. I’ve also done a little better about watching what I eat, and while I only went to the gym once this past week (we can blame my son for waking up around 2 or 3AM every morning which caused me to hit the snooze one too many times at 6AM…), I went HARD the one day I went. It was very motivating, and I’m still feeling the repercussions this morning!
As far as organization goes, my house still feels a bit messy and unkempt, so next weekend I’m going to do a massive purge. Whatever I don’t use, it’s GOING. I also plan to buy a few totes when I get paid next week and start organizing the crap out of things in the garage (which is a trainwreck).
This upcoming week: I really only have 2 posts planned for next week, and they include reviews! I think I need to take it down a notch from last week, and actually focus on what the blog is (mostly) about: book reviews.
For Christmas, I got $50 worth of Amazon gift cards, and I think my boyfriend was a bit devastated when I exclaimed I was going to use them to buy nEW BOOKS! You should’ve seen the light leave his eyes.
I was approved for another eARC via NetGalley, and I’m so excited! I’m almost done with Girls of Paper and Fire, and then I will finish Just for Clicks and begin Wicked Saints – be advised this is a tentative plan! Hahahhh.
- Where We Fell by Amber L. Johnson • (FINISHED) ★★★ Read 60 pages last week. This was a cute book, although not as good as her other title, Puddle Jumping. (Add to Goodreads)
- Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan • (STILL READING) Read 120 pages this week. I am ALMOST FINISHED. After this is posted, I literally only have 37 pages left (I’m at the start of ch. 34). All I can say is: ASDSFGSGASF!!!!!!! (Add to Goodreads)
- Just for Clicks by Kara McDowell • (STARTED) Read 45 pages this week. I am liking this book – very modern, and very relatable. (Add to Goodreads)
Isaac and I caught up with another episode of Iron Fist, but we are making our way through it veeeery slowly. We’ve only watched 8 episodes over the course of, what, 2 months??? But Isaac just dropped the bomb the The Punisher season 2 is coming out soon, so we better finish up Iron Fist!
Off the Blog
We spent a lot of time with friends this week, and it was so nice! Lately, I’d felt like I wasn’t doing much socializing outside of work, and it was nice to get out to our friend’s house and play a bunch of card games that made us laugh our butts off. We did that on New Year’s Eve, and also last night; we played The Voting Game and Disturbing Friends, which were both extremely amusing!
On Tuesday afternoon, we went to a birthday party, and on Thursday and Friday night, we went out to eat – and Rowan explored all kinds of yummy foods. He tried pork, pizza (just the cheese), some bits of salad, chicken, tortellini, and some cake and ice cream! He ate it up. He’s been acting like such a big boy lately (I mean just look at that picture!), and pulling himself up on things and even trying to let go once he’s standing up!
Yesterday, I had to brush up on my first aid and CPR for work. It is SO SUPER IMPORTANT TO KNOW THIS STUFF so if you don’t know anything about it, I’d suggest taking a class. You could save the life of a loved one.
Okay, lecture over. I’m looking forward to pursuing my goals some more this week: 1. Eating better and going to the gym 3x this week. 2. Decluttering my house and get serious about decorating (I really want to paint the hallway a different color!) 3. Read 200+ pages this week!
Book Blogger Hop
I’ve decided to include this little tidbit at the end of my weekly digests, and use it to hopefully find new friends and open up more dialogue between us! This meme is brought to you by Coffee Addicted Writer, where I will be linking up!
Are there any books you are looking forward to for 2019?
MY ANSWER: Well isn’t that a loaded question! There most certainly are a bunch of books I am eager to devour, and some of them include: A Curse So Dark and Lonely, King of Scars, Aurora Rising, Echo North, The Devouring Gray, We Hunt the Flame, and Rage.
How is your weekend going? How did you bring in the new year? What are you reading, and did you get anything new? Are you trained in First Aid & CPR? Tell me below! 👇🏼
