bookish / hyping up pre-published books like it's my job, and going over my last-finished/current/next book.
Happy Wednesday, cool kids. It’s been a pretty chill day in my household so far. My son is down for a nap, and I’ve got some time to dedicate to my blog! Yay!

So I thought I’d grace your screens and do a meme! I last did one on March 18th, so I’m a bit overdue. Since then, we’ve been on a sort-of “lockdown” – like I’m sure all of you are similarly experiencing. We’ve been flying by the seat of our pants day-to-day, but momma’s putting her foot down and composing some sort of schedule that we can all agree to and defer to.

Lack of schedule has made me anxious and, I’ll admit, a little on the depressed side. I’m trying really hard to keep it together for my family. 😓

What did I recently finish reading?

Sooo… the last book I technically finished was To Be Honest, in audiobook format, and that was on March 23rd. 😕 It’s been slow-going with my current read. See below.

what am i currently reading?

I’m reading my eARC of The Scapegracers by Hannah Abigail Clarke. I’ve read more this week than I have been since I started it on March 12th – Yes, I said March 12th – but I’m sad that I still haven’t finished it. (While Rowan’s napping, I’ll be using this time to read some more of it!)

what will i pick up next?

I’m still pretty sure I’m going to start House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas, but before I delve into a heavy fantasy, I’m contemplating reading Buy Me, which is a quick 117-page adult fiction novel (and it’ll give me a boost with my Goodreads challenge since I’m 5 books behind). So we will see once I finish The Scapegracers!

Can’t wait for…

Author: Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
Expected Publication: May 5th, 2020 by Knopf Books For Young Readers
Genres: science fiction, young adult

Our heroes are back… kind of. From the bestselling co-authors of the Illuminae Files comes the second book in the epic series about a squad of misfits, losers, and discipline cases who just might be the galaxy’s best hope for survival.

First, the bad news: an ancient evil—you know, your standard consume-all-life-in-the-galaxy deal—is about to be unleashed. The good news? Squad 312 is standing by to save the day. They’ve just got to take care of a few small distractions first.

Like the clan of gremps who’d like to rearrange their favorite faces.

And the cadre of illegit GIA agents with creepy flowers where their eyes used to be, who’ll stop at nothing to get their hands on Auri.

Then there’s Kal’s long-lost sister, who’s not exactly happy to see her baby brother, and has a Syldrathi army at her back. With half the known galaxy on their tails, Squad 312 has never felt so wanted.

When they learn the Hadfield has been found, it’s time to come out of hiding. Two centuries ago, the colony ship vanished, leaving Auri as its sole survivor. Now, its black box might be what saves them. But time is short, and if Auri can’t learn to master her powers as a Trigger, the squad and all their admirers are going to be deader than the Great Ultrasaur of Abraaxis IV.

Shocking revelations, bank heists, mysterious gifts, inappropriately tight bodysuits, and an epic firefight will determine the fate of the Aurora Legion’s most unforgettable heroes—and maybe the rest of the galaxy as well.

GAH, I cannot wait for this sequel to be published!!! I eager to see how Squad 312 gets out of this sticky situation they’ve found themselves in – and also, we get to meet Kal’s sister? Oh boy. I’m just so ready.

WHAT PRE-PUBLISHED BOOK ARE YOU EXCITED to get your hands on? What’s a book that you recently finished, and what are you reading now?
