bookish / march's published books + some awesome book reviews i've found around the blogosphere!
How’s it cookin’, good lookin’? I had an idea a couple of week ago, and I let it simmer in my mind, but then decided… let’s just do it! I wanted to take a little rewind with each month and go over all of the books I was interested in and that were published, and go on a little scavenger hunt for positive book reviews around the blogosphere. I thought it’d be a good opportunity to throw some exposure to book reviews, because I feel like – even as book reviewers – those reviews don’t get a lot of love.

So go on a little virtual walk with me through all of these books that were released this March, and check out some of these fab reviews I came across!

March’s Book Releases

HOUSE OF EARTH AND BLOOD
Author: Sarah J. Maas
Published: March 3rd, 2020 by Bloomsbury Publishing
Genres: fantasy, new adult, romance
Add to Goodreads

Let’s start with my most anticipated book release of March, okay? I’ve loved just about every Sarah J. Mass book I’ve ever read, so I hope this will be no exception. There are some reviews out there that are on both sides of the spectrum, but I’m mostly seeing great reviews, and this makes me extremely happy. As a hardcore fan of A Court of Mist and Fury, I’m looking for new characters to “stalker-fan”…

DARLING ROSE GOLD
Author: Stephanie Wrobel
Published: March 17th, 2020 by Berkley
Genres: thriller, mystery

This book comes right out and says it’s a bit twisted and dark, and that’s exactly what all of my fellow reviewers are saying about it. It’s a thriller, through and through. Count me in, guys!!! (Also, I’m a sucker for rose gold… so I can’t lie and say the cover didn’t have a factor in my choice to check it out.)

HAVENFALL
Author: Sara Holland
Published: March 3rd, 2020 by Bloomsbury YA
Genres: fantasy, young adult

I’m hearing about this book left and right, and it’s basically about a magical inn that leads to other worlds. Um, yes! That is the coolest concept ever. I also like the fact that the inn is magical, even if Earth around it isn’t. I’m just craving for a book about multiple worlds, so this one might slide up on my TBR sooner than I thought!

Hold back the tide
Author: Melinda Salisbury
Published: March 5th, 2020 by Scholastic
Genres: fantasy, young adult, horror

I never read the Sin Eater’s Daughter trilogy written by this author, but I heard nothing but good things about it, honestly. The description on this book is pretty vague, but when I read some of the reviews, I knew I had to add this to my TBR! It currently has a 4.4 rating on Goodreads – that’s pretty good! It’s also pretty common that a lot of reviewers are saying “HOW DARE YOU” to the author over the ending of the book, and I’m just super curious about what this entails… 😳

Look
Author: Zan Romanoff
Published: March 31st, 2020 by Dial Books
Genres: young adult, LGBT, contemporary, romance
Add to Goodreads

I love that a lot of reviewers are saying this book is powerful and impactful. It also focuses on social media – the good, the bad and the ugly – which I can really dig in a modern novel. And after investigation, this book isn’t getting a lot of coverage?!? Hopefully this exposé will get readers interested in picking this one up!
