bookish / top ten tuesday, where i make predictions on what upcoming books i read will be rated 5 stars!
So there’s this girl Destiny, and she lives over at Howling Libraries and I’ve seen her do Top Ten posts… but sometimes instead of following the given prompt, she does her own quarterly predictions on what books she think will be rated 5 stars from her TBR! What a stellar idea, I thought to myself, and even though I’m 3 weeks late on this, I can still predict what books I will love for February and March! So here I am, predicting away!

I’ll admit, I’m really bad at predicting things, but I’m not going to let that stop me. I’m pretty hard-headed. Since this is my first time completing a prediction post, I don’t have any updates on the previous quarter of 5-star predictions, but you’ll see that in the next quarterly post (end of March). Well, OKAY! I’m ready to start predicting. Badly. 🙃

My 5-Star Predictions for January through March

to kill a kingdom 🧜🏻‍♀️

Why do I think it’ll be 5 stars? Well, is it cheating if I’ve already read almost 25% of it? Okay, well, I thought it would be a 5 star read even before I started it because I love The Little Mermaid, and it was givin’ me vibes. (Goodreads)

ruthless gods 📿

Why do I think it’ll be 5 stars? I read Wicked Saints last year, and was really hesitant about it at first. But I ended up really liking it. And I think I just may love the sequel. Here’s hoping…! 🤞🏻 (Goodreads)

The beautiful 🧛🏻‍♂️

Why do I think it’ll be 5 stars? I really loved Ahdieh’s The Wrath and the Dawn series starter (I still need to read the 2nd book!), and well, I’m reeeally ready for vampire stories to come back into fashion. (Goodreads)

the court of miracles ✨

Why do I think it’ll be 5 stars? Another ARC I need to read! It’s supposed to be a re-imagining of Les Misérables and The Jungle Book – and even though I haven’t see Les Mis, I like The Jungle Book. And it’s an alternate history, which I want to read more of! (Goodreads)

confess 🎨

Why do I think it’ll be 5 stars? I really enjoy Colleen Hoover’s books, and I haven’t read this one yet for some reason. In an effort to read all of the books from my shelves, I want to add this to my list for this quarter. (Goodreads)

roseblood 🎭

Why do I think it’ll be 5 stars? Because Phantom of the Opera!!! Do I need any other reason? (Goodreads)

the bone houses ⚰️

Why do I think it’ll be 5 stars? I’ve had this book since the September Owlcrate box, and I’ve been wanting to read it! It has such good ratings, too. And it’s supposed to take place in a spooky graveyard?! Oh yeah! (Goodreads)

house of earth and blood 🌙

Why do I think it’ll be 5 stars? Because every Sarah J. Maas book has been five stars for me. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I have this pre-ordered. 😊 (Goodreads)

there’s someone inside your house 🔪

Why do I think it’ll be 5 stars? This book contains gruesome murders! Hahah, okay that’s not the reason, but it seems like a spooky novel right up my alley, and I’ve loved Perkins’ contemporary novels. (Goodreads)

hunted 🏹

Why do I think it’ll be 5 stars? I normally love Beauty and the Beast retellings. It’s one of my favorite fairytales! I hope this isn’t the one book that’ll disappoint me and have me forever swear off of retellings of Belle and her beast. No pressure. (Goodreads)

do you have any books you anticipate rating 5 stars? share with me your 5-star predictions!

I’m linking up my post to Top Ten Tuesday!

4 Responses to Top Ten Tuesday #22: January → March 5-Star Predictions!

  1. At least three books that are coming out this coming year are by authors I adore, so I’m sure they’ll all get 5 stars!

  2. Picking 5-star reads is always hard, but I hope these come true for you! I should be reading Ruthless Gods soon, and I’m predicting it’ll be five stars for me, too. I’m really looking forward to reading The Bone Houses, too, and I’ve heard wonderful things about it!

    Here’s my TTT post.

My fingers are crossed that all of your guesses will be correct!

  4. The only one I’ve read is Confess and it was a four-star read for me, but Colleen Hoover is usually a little over the top for me. 😉 I hope they’re all five-star reads for you!
