bookish / top ten tuesday, where i talk about the book characters i'd follow on social media
Hey there, ho there, happy Tuesday! Anyone feel a top ten list coming on? Let me crack open a can of ‘if book characters were real’ and let’s merge it with social media for the sake of this post.

So, if book characters were real, and if they had social media… who would you most likely follow? I’ve got a few that pop in my head like hazard lights in the dead of night, but this is a list that I had to turn to my ‘read’ list on Goodreads… you know, to visit all of the books I’ve read and try to mentally list all the characters from each one and decide if they’d have a fun media presence.

Characters I’d follow on social media

calixte from strange the dreamer: As a mischievous daredevil, I believe Calixte would have an excellent Instagram! I can just picture her taking selfies as she’s climbing impossible buildings, making unreasonable gambles, traveling distant worlds, and most likely having the company of her boo, Tzara. (Can someone please point me in the direction of some good Calixte/Tzara fanart, if there is any???)

finian de seel from aurora Rising: Finian would probably be wonderful to behold in the Twitterverse! He’d be making all sorts of sarcastic comments, and everyone – absolutely everyone – would fall victim.

lila bard from a darker shade of magic: Lila would have a fun adventure blog! As a privateer, she gets to travel constantly, and I’d totally read up on all of her fantastic exploits and live through her blog. Her famous quote is: “I’d rather die on an adventure than live standing still.”

monty from the gentleman’s guide to vice & virtue: Oh, Monty. It’d probably be amusing to scroll through his Facebook feed. He’d make amusing posts and would always be commenting on Percy’s posts.

rhysand from A court of thorns and roses: I don’t care WHAT form of social media Rhys would have, I’d follow it all. 🤤

Eliza from Eliza and Her Monsters: You don’t even realize how badly I wanted Eliza’s website and comic to be real! (And I mean, technically it is, because there’s a website here) But I wanted the message board, I wanted the updates on her comic, and I wanted it to be real. I wish I had that kind of artistic talent, too, because it made me want to create a whole world myself and have people fall in love with my story and art. 😍

fred & george weasley from Harry Potter: I would love for Fred and George Weasley to have a YouTube channel, where they would use their wizarding wheezes on unsuspecting wizards – think Impractical Jokers, but in the wizarding world! 🤣 I’m chuckling so hard just thinking about it.

Luna Lovegood from harry potter: Luna is so ‘out there’, and I think it make for some great blog content! She’d have so many unique posts about thestrals, crumple-horned snorkacks, bowtruckles, and reviews on Spectrespecs!

What characters do you wish had social media accounts?

I’m linking up my post to Top Ten Tuesday!
