A Darker Shade of Rosie

Top Ten Tuesday (#5): New-To-Me Authors of 2018

Happy Tuesday! Today I’m talking about the new authors (to me) that I read in 2018. I read very little, though, and half of the books I read were new-to-me authors.

Last year, I read the likes of V. E. Schwab, J. K. Rowling, and Dan Rix, who were not new, but then I ventured out to discover some new authors: some I loved, some that were just okay.

new-to-me authors of 2018

I can’t say Ana Tejano was a favorite, but I think I found a new author to follow in Natasha Ngan! I loved her novel Girls of Paper and Fire and I CANNOT. WAIT. for the sequel! I also adored Amber L. Johnson’s stories, for the most part! I’ll definitely be trying out more of her novels.

who were some authors that you discovered in 2018? have you read Girls of Paper and Fire? because i totally think you should!

I’m linking up my post to Top Ten Tuesday at That Artsy Reader Girl!

Great list! I’m hoping to cross Girls of Paper and Fire off my TBR really soon – I need more f/f fantasy in my life.

It was pretty good! I really liked the character interactions, especially between Scarlett and her neighbor. I rated it 3 stars, but it’s worth a read! x

Sounds like I enjoyed SOMETHING IN THE WATER a little more than you did. I saw the ending coming, but I thought the rest of it was riveting. Sorry you didn’t like it better! I’m glad you found some other books/authors to love this year.

    Happy TTT!

I liked it, and it kept me on the edge of my seat quite a bit, but the ending is what upset me. I loved the anticipation of everything in Bora Bora. x

It was so wonderful! Raw, and heartbreaking, with a wonderful fantasy world, and I want to know when we are going to get the sequel! Because how can she just leave us hanging like that???
